My Background

Originally hailing from Northern England and residing in the California Bay Area since 2006, I am a family man whose passions include coaching my kid’s soccer teams, hiking in the mountains and areas of natural beauty, and playing golf with my family and friends. I am also a lifelong fan of Manchester City Football Club.

Professionally, I am a recognized expert in strategic growth, brand building, team performance, and executive mentorship with an extensive track record of delivering extraordinary growth, financial results, and building high-performing teams.

My expertise comes from wide-ranging success in CEO, CMO, Board, and Advisory roles across multiple branded consumer and SMB sectors including CPG, technology, gaming, media, and SaaS.

I’ve worked at notable companies including Sony PlayStation, Intuit, Kellogg’s, Farmers Business Network, and have experience in PE-backed management buyouts, VC-backed technology startups, Fortune 500 companies, and family owned enterprises.

  • Led the global marketing team that launched PlayStation 4, the most successful console launch in history selling 30 million units in the first 2 years, increasing revenue from $9B to $15B.

  • At PE-backed Marlow Foods, created a new growth strategy that increased revenue +14% and EBITDA from $9M to $28M, resulting in a $200M gain in shareholder value upon sale.

  • Worked with the CEO of Intuit QuickBooks to develop a new vision, growth strategy and integrated marketing platform and campaign that delivered 43% customer & 40% revenue growth to $3B+.

  • Working with the VC-backed C-level executive team of Farmers Business Network, conceived and executed a growth strategy that increased revenues 80% to $400m, and valuation from $1.6B to $3.8B.

  • Worked with founders of ServiceTitan, a VC-backed SaaS home services platform, to create a new brand platform to launch 3 new products that led to 80% ARR growth to $175m.

  • Partnered with the CEO and executive team of MoveAuto, a family owned Auto Shipping business, to create a new growth strategy that delivered an unprecedented profitable growth of 25%+.

  • Teamed up with the Founder of LoveToKnow, a privately owned content platform, to develop a new vision and strategy that delivered a 20%+ increase in profitable revenue.

  • Partnered with the CEO of Gardien, a PE-backed food business, to develop a new vision and strategy that increased revenue by 25% from $26m - $32m.

  • Worked with the C-level executive team of GHD, a declining PE-backed luxury consumer brand, to create a new growth strategy that ultimately created $160m in shareholder value.

  • Guided the founders of GoldMail, a fledgling Angel-backed technology communications business, from early stage concept to full commercial launch in 11 months.

  • Partnered with the CEO of Govnet, a family-owned media business to develop and implement a new growth strategy that increased revenue from $10m - $22m and EBITDA from $1.1m to $2.8m.
